Executive Head Farm Managers

Our valued client, an agro-industrial entity registered in Zimbabwe and Kenya, is seeking two energetic, experienced, knowledgeable, and hands-on Executive Head Farm Managers to take full responsibility for the overall development, effective, profitable, and optimal management of a farm in Tana River County, Kenya and a farm in the Mwenezi District, Zimbabwe.

The ideal candidates will hold a relevant tertiary qualification (required — an MBA or a Financial qualification will be a strong recommendation) and have more than 10 years of experience in all aspects of developing and effectively managing an irrigated cropping enterprise, with in-depth knowledge of general management principles.

The above skills, combined with strong computer literacy, discipline, the ability to function effectively under pressure, excellent leadership qualities, attention to detail, an ownership mentality, and exceptional planning and organisational skills, are key attributes we are looking for.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the implementation of the strategy
• Oversee daily operations in collaboration with divisional managers
• Develop the farms and ensure sustainable growth
• Budgeting and financial management
• Draft annual and monthly plans and strategies
• Measure cost-effectiveness and productivity
• General personnel management (recruitment, appointments, wages, salaries, increases, and disciplinary action)
• Inventory and asset management
• Relationship management to promote the farm’s image
• Effective planning and production procurement
• Proper maintenance and consistent serviceability of equipment
• Overall maintenance and cleanliness of the farm
• Efficient labour utilisation
• General administration
• Farm security
• Fire management and prevention
